Hi! I’m Nate. I started with Graf Engineering as an intern in May of 1999, when the company was known as Fuhrmann Engineering Services. In May of 2000, I graduated from the Colorado School of Mines, and Tom Fuhrmann let me stick around. After earning my Professional Engineering license in 2005, I became the Managing Partner of Fuhrmann Engineering Services in January 2007 (great timing, I know) and the sole proprietor in January 2015. Having paid off Tom in 2018, I legally changed the company name to Graf Engineering, LLC. Since 1999, I have designed, drafted (I don’t REVIT yet), or observed tens of thousands of structures in Colorado. I love problem-solving, learning new things, working with people, and giving back, so I’m willing to jump into helping wherever I can.
Outside work, I’m an oversized kid who loves Scouting, woodworking, music, theatre, and LEGO. I’m fortunate enough to have a wife who loves Scouting with me, and we raised both of our boys to become Eagle Scouts, like their dad. Even though the boys have aged out of the program, and I have stepped down from the Scoutmaster role, Heather and I remain active volunteers with the Scouts as we believe this is how we can make the world a better place.
